Emma Cunningham

Emma Cunningham is a jewellery artist from Aotearoa - New Zealand.
Her work is inspired by nature and concerned with the preservation of it. It celebrates the beauty of our natural world and serves as a reminder of what we have to lose if we do not protect it.
Emma has a Bachelor Degree in Visual Arts and she completed her post graduate study in Sculpture. She has won several national and international art awards, and in 2023 she showcased her jewellery on the runway of New York Fashion Week.
Her work is made from recycled and natural materials and she is interested in the meaning that different materials convey. Her jewellery is tactile and reveals traces of it's maker. Her mark making providing evidence of the handmade.
Using symbols and narrative Emma’s work explores the space between the seen and unseen, the crack between worlds, where mythology and folklore inform our collective consciousness.
