Born in 1999 in Seoul, South Korea, Young Jun Kim has always been passionate about art, eventually transforming this passion into a career in jewelry design. His journey began at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, where his interest in art took root. Seeking to explore his creativity further, Young Jun attended the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, a turning point that set the direction for his future endeavors in jewelry.
After a year in California, Young Jun moved to New York, completing high school and then pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Jewelry Design at Pratt Institute. This path was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, prompting his return to South Korea for mandatory military service. However, in 2022, he returned to New York, ready to dive back into the city's lively art scene.
Young Jun's talent was quickly recognized during an internship at "Title of Work," a notable jewelry design firm. This experience allowed him to participate in significant exhibitions like the New York City Jewelry Week and events hosted by the Society of North American Goldsmiths and the Society of Arts and Crafts. His exceptional skills led to recognition as one of the 50 artists featured in a leading jewelry magazine.
Graduating from Pratt Institute in 2024 with a BFA in Jewelry Design, Young Jun secured a role as a Fine Jewelry Jeweler at Krainz Creations. In this position, he crafts stunning pieces for renowned clients, including Harry Winston. This opportunity has further refined his ability to create exquisite jewelry through innovative techniques and attention to detail.
