Sophie is a French designer who lives and works in the Catskills, NY. Fascinated by nature since a young age, the style of her work is focused on the mineral, vegetal and animal with a main guideline: the desire to work with raw materials. After a taxidermy and entomology school in London, Sophie went back to Paris and graduated from the famous Ecole Boulle in Paris. Already in love with the aesthetic of beetles, it became her favorite subject to work on and she created her own universe around it. Each insect is unique, with its deep, bright and various colors, as well as its voluptuous and smooth shape. A very original way to show the astonishing beauty of mother nature and her natural gifts. As Sophie is a perfectionist, she devotes herself to a constant process renewal and a variation of unexpected materials in her designs. Working on each pieces like a sculpture, she wanders her imagination through her surroundings: from a butterfly flitting to a rusted piece of furniture . Sophie defines her style as natural, woody, obscure and colorful at the same time, where each piece is meticulously and precisely hand crafted.
