Chantel Gushue is a visual artist based in Halifax, Canada. She received her BFA from the NSCAD University (2003) and her MFA from MassArt (2020). A lover of geometry, science, and colour, Chantel's work includes jewellery, drawings and small sculpture installations. Holding dual diplomas in gemmology, her recent work reflects on her knowledge of gemstones and crystallography to draw connections between crystal growth and the human condition.
Aside from her active studio practice, Chantel is a regular part-time instructor at NSCAD University. She is passionate about building community with other art jewellers and is the co-founder and co-chair of Co-Adorn Art Jewellery Society, an organization that creates opportunities and promotes the work of Canadian art jewellers.
Chantel has exhibited internationally and is excited about participating in several NYCJW exhibitions including SNAG’s Voltage. She is honoured to be one of the jewellers selected for NYCJW One for the Future 2021 cohort. She is concurrently showing in the exhibition “Jewelry and Nature” at Tincal Lab in Porto, Portugal.
