Lingua Nigra

Lingua Nigra is a small woman- owned Chicago based metals brand with a focus on organic, sculptural jewelry and home goods. The work is designed and created by jeweler, Alicia Goodwin with the help of a small rotating team of artisans and admins.  Inspired by Meso American ceremonial jewelry, Victorian mourning jewelry and nature, the work is made mostly of brass, bronze and sterling silver, with bestsellers being dramatic earrings and bracelets and small stackable rings with a focus on inclusive sizing. Textures are created using two unique techniques, which are acid etching and also reticulation. These looks really make the work stand out and also make Lingua Nigra recognizable from anywhere!  All of the work is made in the USA with high quality materials with the help of several small, family run factories. The work is made with love and intent and we are very proud to have a strong online and wholesale client base. Lingua Nigra is sold online and also in stores all over the world, including two Smithsonian Museum stores and other specialty museum shops in the U.S.
