Hola Luna

After receiving a BA in media studies/film, I ended up following a dream to pursue a career in music and have spent my adult years as a performing singer songwriter. Hola Luna began as a labor of love in early 2017 when a lifelong penchant for creating things with my hands coalesced with a growing disinterest in buying mass produced items that have a toxic effect not only on the environment but our minds as well. I decided one small but meaningful way for me to reconcile my sensibilities for the appreciation of beautiful objects without contributing to the problem of over consumption and waste, would be to start making things for myself, family and friends – particularly upcycling items destined for a landfill. What a great way to indulge the senses with my favorite natural materials (leather and wood) and to share it with others. After receiving enough “Do you sell those?” – “Uhhhh, you should sell those!” compliments, I decided to give it a go and soon my one bedroom apartment in New York City’s East Village became a home/studio.
