Leslie Shershow is an artist and jeweler, whose work primarily focuses on our relationship with the natural world; our expectations of, experiences in, and how it is represented in media and artificial landscapes in order to appeal to a collective ideal.

Originally from Maine, Leslie made her way to California by way of Boston and Houston. She received her BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, majoring in jewelry and metals. After school she continued to work in Boston; teaching metalsmithing at community arts centers, and acting as small metals area studio technician and Continuing Education instructor at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. In 2011, she moved to Texas for a residency at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Upon completion, she continued her art practice in Houston by participating in craft shows, exhibitions, and art events. She continued to teach metalsmithing and specialized workshops on mold-making, plastic casting, and working with alternative materials. Leslie has also worked as a fabricator and stone setter for fine jewelry companies, and has most recently been Visiting Professor in Jewelry and Metals at New Mexico State University.

Leslie has exhibited her work nationally and internationally; participating in exhibitions at Galerie Marzee, Sienna Gallery, Gallery Loupe, Alliages, and during the Society of North American Goldsmith’s conference. In 2019, she received a Master of Fine Arts Degree at San Diego State University, majoring in Jewelry + Metalwork.
