Fake Plastic Love
Fake Plastic Love
Scarlett Poon is a Hong Kong-based jeweller and the founder of Fake Plastic Love. A self-taught metalsmith, she began her jewellery journey during the pandemic, when long periods of quarantine inspired her to seek moments of joy and curiosity in daily life.
What started as a creative outlet soon evolved into a growing collection of handcrafted jewellery that transforms familiar observations into miniature wearable worlds. Inspired by everyday objects, childhood memories, and whimsical daydreams, Scarlett approaches jewellery as a form of storytelling. Her pieces often reimagine subjects such as chairs, tables, drawers, puppets, and sinks, inviting wearers to look more closely at details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Working primarily in brass and silver, Scarlett creates jewellery that balances craftsmanship with humour and whimsical imagination. Many pieces incorporate movement and interactive elements, creating jewellery that is not only worn but experienced.
Scarlett's work has been exhibited in New York and featured in publications in both the United States and Hong Kong. Through every collection, Fake Plastic Love celebrates the poetry hidden within ordinary moments.
Alongside exhibitions and special projects, Scarlett creates made-to-order pieces for collectors around the world through her online shop. Her ongoing work continues to explore themes of individuality, nostalgia, and the unexpected stories that surround us in daily life.
