Chloe Valorso
‘A material physical exploration of a metaphysical dimension’
In the Witching hours of the 21st century, Chloe is investigating our reality, forging the unreal from fragments of the real. Using jewellery as a shamanic language, she collages organic/man made, seen/imagined in materials - combining ancient symbols and leitmotifs with modern-day youth culture and the digital language of motion graphics, 3D imagery and emoji culture.
Her pieces are amulets, activated when worn, empowering the wearer through their compelling symbolic qualities and deep sense of history and story-telling – essential components in this innovative interpretation of mythology. Her pieces encourage a contemplative and spiritual approach to our environment and aim to inspire a reconnection to the self, each other and nature. Her work is set in liminality.
Chloe is an award winning artist. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2016 and went on to study her masters at the Royal College of Art where she is now teaching. In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious RCA Onno Boekhoudt scholarship to train as a Shamanic Breathwork facilitator. Practising for five years, she is a certified yoga and transformation teacher. Her practice combines art education in renowned schools with innovative and spiritual practices, creating a unique perspective and visualisation.
This year she is working again with NYCJW to share the power of jewellery with alchemy and community ! Collaborating with artist Melanie Issaka on a special series.
Stay tuned for their creations opening the program each day of the week.
